[She's always been an earlier riser than Remy, what with his tendency as a thief to be more of a night owl. Lately it's been other things keeping them both up late, not that she's complaining, but there's definitely a fresh pot of strong coffee brewing as she rustles them up some breakfast. There's still plenty of party planning to do, otherwise she'd still be in bed with her space heater of a husband.
Even with everything that's happened, with the weight of the 'evolution' of her powers still looming over them, Rogue feels deeply grateful of his support through it all. So, when she hears him stir and move through his waking habits, she smiles to herself while tending to the pancake on the skillet. There's also bacon in the oven and fresh berries in the fridge to top the pancakes.
She's just wearing one of his baggy t-shirts and a pair of lacy drawers, having not bothered to put on pants to cook, and her hair's up in a mess of a bun. He's quiet as he moves through the apartment, but it's almost as though she can feel him approaching. When he does capture her, she hums lazily, a contented noise that intensifies as his lips dote on her neck. It's followed by a soft sigh escaping her brightening smile.]
Mornin' sugah. [She turns her head towards him expectantly.] Kiss?
[Who wanted to get out of bed when he had such a lovely lady next to him? Really, he had tried to hold on to her when she had started to move away this morning, but Remy LeBeau knew better. Powers or not, if Rogue didn't want to be moved or held, then nothing in the world was going to stop her. Plus, well, he wasn't being overly serious about it, just trying to convince her to stay cuddled up for longer.
Then again, cuddling would had lead down a certain other path and then they wouldn't be getting out of bed at all.
...not that that was a bad idea.]
Hmmm? [He hummed.] Only one? [Tempted to play it up, to put said requested kiss somewhere else, to work a line up her neck, but how could he possibly refuse her? Lifting his head, Remy pressed a kiss to her lips, lingering long enough to be just more than a quick peck, but not letting it stay too long. Not with stuff cooking and possibly setting of the fire alarm. They could save that for later.]
[It was a struggle leaving the warmth of the bed and his arms, but they had quite the laundry list of tasks to climb and absolutely none of it would get done had he entirely distracted her this morning.]
Wouldn't want the pancakes to burn. [Her skin prickled a bit at the heat of his breath and that hum against her neck, but she held her ground and flipped the pancake pointedly just before his lips caught hers. A wise decision, she soon discovered. It never ceased to amaze her how after so many years he can make her pulse race and her toes curl with a touch or in this case, a proper kiss. Not too long, but long enough to make her wish she stayed in bed.
When the part, a pleased noise escaped her lips and she's clearly delighted.]
Sure don't wanna skip those 'nd just use the syrup? [And yet still after all those years, he was still a brat. Not as much as he use to be, it had been watered down with age, but it still lingered enough. Especially when she was the target for it.] Some whipped cream? [A happy purr to his tone as Remy tightened the arm he had around her waist.]
Ah think ah'm positively famished... [She rocked her hips back against his in a circle while otherwise keeping a pleasant smile.] For pancakes.
[As a peace offering of sorts, she leaned in to press a kiss to his jaw, nudging her nose against his cheek for a moment before glancing at the pancake.]
[Remy let out a mumble of something in French, more just a sound than any real words, making it sound like he was grumbling over that but it was paired up with a smile, so not to be taken seriously. Turning just enough to brush a kiss back against her forehead in answer, Remy did however move away from her to let her finish up.
And also due to the sudden wailing that was coming from down by his feet, Oliver sitting there and calling for attention.]
That so? [Remy addressed the cat, moving back to start sorting out their breakfast, the gray cat following behind with another series of meows.] I know, I know, I heard ya. [Then addressing Rogue,] Let me know when ya all sorted 'nd will help ya get stuff dished up. [His attention going back to the cats as the other two appeared from somewhere within the apartment, adding their voices to the sound of food being prepared for them.]
[That noise, the breath against her skin as he pretended to complain, sent warm chills along her spine and straight to her chest. Her own grin curled and her eyes fluttered closed for a moment with the kiss. She's tempted to abandon breakfast in favor of more kissing and touching, but another hunger had her attention.
Besides, once the boys captured their Bringer of Food's attentions, it was a completely unending song and dance until they were provided their meals. At Oliver's announcement, she couldn't help but chuckle, head shaking and hair falling around her face as she continues to tend to their breakfast.]
Shouldn't be but five more minutes. [Rogue shifted her attention to watch the morning showing.] Please snag the fruit and accouterments out of the fridge after your done feedin' the boys.
[Remy did manage to drag his attention away from sorting out the cats' food to reply to that,] Will do, will do. [Before carefully moving to put the food bowls down, and again, without getting them tangled up around in his feet enough to trip him. Stepping back to leave them to their breakfast, one last look back to them left Remy humming a 'hmm' briefly at the dive for their food.] Ya'll boys be real special. [No wonder he adored them so.
Cats fed, hands washed, Remy moved on to grab out those items she asked from the fridge, setting them out before sorting out plates and cutlery for them.] Better not make this a habit, goin' to think ya spoilin' me.
[His hum caught her attention enough that she peered over towards the boys, her own eyebrow lifting in amusement before she turns back to the pancakes. They're finished, and she's split them between two plates, letting Remy step in to finish the plating as she carried various other items for breakfast to the table, but not before stealing a quick kiss and a smile.]
Spoil you? Never. [She returned to snag a few more items, leaving him with the plates.] Ah'd say we take advantage of these moments where the sky ain't fallin', but you know ah expect you to do your share of cookin' deliciousness.
[Remy paused long enough from helping out to make himself up a cup of coffee, raising it enough to ask her;] Ya wanna cup? [Before finishing up his with sugar and milk. Hey, he grew up worshiping Cafe du Monde's coffee, he acquired a taste for his coffee being heavily altered.
Balancing that along with the plates and a few other items, he carried them over to the table.] I donno, feel we've had some pretty 'nterestin' times when we thought the sky was fallin'. [Interesting, but he was also mostly joking. Adrenaline fueled moments of passion may seem fun in the moment, thought the fall out of them wasn't always as fun.]
