[The Doctor smiles warmly back. His face turns a cross between seriousness and concern. A sympathetic look appears on Ten's face.]

Merci. [Remy then gave a shrug to that.] Though it ain't my finest hour, maybe not m' worst either. Maybe. [It was a tough call between shadow monster and Death really...] But at least I don't think I killed or seriously 'njured 'nyone, so I call that a win.

[As for the arm.] Ah, could do with a bit of maintenance I think. When I transformed 'nto that thing, I did actually lose it. Funnily 'nough, seems shadows can't hold stuff. Managed to find it again where I dropped it when I transformed, but could do with a tune up to make sure it in full workin' order. If ya wouldn't mind.

[The Doctor gives Remy a warm smile.]

[The Doctor is already on his way over. It's not too long later Remy hears a knock on his front door.]

C'ourse not.

[Incoming hug in five, four, three, two, one]

[Remy smiles upon seeing the Doctor at the door, then grins as he's pulled into that hug, happy to return it. He's a rather touchy person normally, liking to have casual physical contact with others, so the hug is not off putting at all, giving a pat to the Doctor's back before stepping back to invite him in.] Come on in, make yaself comfortable.

[Ten beams with delight and proceeds in. Finding a spot on the sofa. Sits with his rear at an 90-degree angle and his sneakers on the table. Arms crossing at his waist. Then proceeds to take out his sonic screwdriver to mend, Remy's arm. In a collective voice remarks.]

You are right. Long as you haven't harmed anyone, while under this place's influence. That's the most any of us can hope for.

[The first time the Doctor had done that when he first came over to Remy's house it had taken so much restraint not to slap a palm against the back of his head for putting his feet up on the table. Hell, even worse, his dirty shoes. It was all those years of ingrained manners taught to Remy by Mattie. Normally with the same slap to the head to make sure they really got in. Until he got too tall for her to reach.

Now, now it just got a shake of his head and roll of his eyes as the Doctor got to work.] What ya fancin'? I actually ended up with some nice stuff showin' up last month among the chaos, some chicory coffee from m' favorite place back home. [Then curious to know. And because he knows the Doctor likes to talk as much as he does, and tell stories.] Ya got a Cafe du Monde in ya world? Assumin' ya ever made it to New Orleans in the first place.

Tea! [The Doctor peaks up. Always tea] Good for the synapses.

[There's a long pause. Ten is waggling his tongue in thought about the question. Has any of his faces been to New Orleans.]

No, can't say I have. [An undertone of; and for him. That's saying a lot. Being so well-traveled.]

On my list. Mardi Gras after all.

[And this face does love a party]

Tea I can do. [Hey, you never know until you ask. One day the Doctor may feel like mixing it up a bit and wanting something else, though he's the main reason why Remy started keeping tea around, even if it's not his personal choice in drinks. He can't help it, he was raised on coffee well before he should had been drinking it. Some sweet beignets and hot coffee packed with lots of sugar had always been a wonderful treat when Remy could had afforded it as a kid on the streets, especially in winter. Not that New Orleans really got that cold, but when you were a kid who had only lived there at that point in his life, it was cold enough to be happy to be holding onto a warm cup on the coldest days.

Remy let out a played up 'ahh' at the Doctor's answer, as if it was the worse possible thing the Doctor has missed out on.] Ya must sometime! She be a city of magic, I think ya'd really like it there, lots of stories to hear. 'm sure ya can explain everything that goes on there, but sometimes it's nice to pretend and play along with stuff even if ya know it ain't real. [Or sometimes it was real, as Remy well knew. Zombies, vampires, voodoo, he's ran into all of it down home. His city was a weird one, but he loved it. Always full of mystery and always ready to find something new.]

Ya know, if there ever a possibility for ya to jump 'nto my universe once we free of this, [Because it certainly has happened from other universes, though they tended to be ones who still had mutants in it.] I will absolutely show ya the best Mardi Gras ya could get.

Apparently, I must. Seems like they party like the French.

[A tongue click.]

What all goes on thar?

[A distressed look. He would love to. Expect. He can't.] I would absolutely love to. But the last time I universe hopped almost killed my Tardis.

Well the French certainly left their mark on the city, but everyone likes a big party, no matter where ya from.

That depends, ya meanin' Mardi Gras, or ya talkin' of all the stories the city's got hidden in it? 'cause if ya talkin' the first, mostly drinkin' 'nd being merry. After all, it's a time to sin before ya have to repent, so gotta make the most of it before ya ask for forgiveness. [Remy moved back across the room, carrying the Doctor's tea and his own coffee in his hand, placing the tea down first before moving to take a seat with his own drink.] If ya talkin' the second, mon Dieu, where to start? Ya want the Axeman's jazz, or how 'bout vampire nuns?

[Remy shrugged off the last part as he took a sip of coffee.] Maybe so, maybe not. Universe jumpin' be pretty common back home, or at least much more than it really should be. Some stick 'round, some head right back off. Stranger things have happened than a random person suddenly poppin' in for a bit before goin' back off to their own world.
